☒️Connecting MetaMask to Crest Chain

How to add Crest Chain Network in your Metamask Wallet

Creating and Configuring MetaMask To get started with MetaMask, you can download the extension for Chrome or Firefox, or install the mobile app for iOS or Android. For the purpose of this guide, we will focus on the Firefox version, but the instructions will be similar across all platforms.

Begin by visiting the MetaMask Download page and selecting the version suitable for your platform. Follow the provided instructions to install MetaMask on your device. It's a straightforward process.

Once installed, launch MetaMask and begin the setup process as guided by the app. Click on "Create a Wallet" to proceed. It's important to securely store your backup seed phrase. This phrase serves as the key to accessing your funds in case your device is lost or damaged. Make sure to write it down and keep it in a safe place, preferably offline and away from any internet-connected devices. Confirm that you have recorded the seed phrase on the following page.

Congratulations! You now have your MetaMask wallet set up and ready to send and receive funds.

Configuring the Wallet Upon setting up your wallet, you may realize that it is initially configured for Ethereum. This won't be compatible with Crest Chain (TCG) DApps, and attempting to send funds could result in the loss of your assets.

To resolve this, we need to adjust the wallet settings to connect with Crest Chain nodes. Follow the steps below to proceed:

  1. Open your wallet and locate the Settings or Preferences section.

  2. Within the Settings, look for the Network or Network Selection option.

  3. Select "Add Custom Network" or a similar option to manually configure a new network.

  4. Now, input the following details to set up the Crest Chain network:

  5. Save the settings and make sure to select the newly added Crest Chain network as your active network.

By configuring your wallet to interact with Crest Chain nodes, you can now seamlessly use Crest Chain DApps and avoid any potential issues or loss of funds.

Make transactions (Mainnet)

Don't be fooled by the Ethereum logo: we have connected to the TCG mainnet. Now, let's get some funds to play with. Hover your mouse over Account 1 and click to copy its address to the clipboard. We will go to the Crest Chain faucet and paste it into the form in the Crest Chain faucet. You will receive the native TCG token in your wallet automatically and depending on the transaction demand it will be slower or faster.

Copy your wallet and paste in the faucet like this:
